My 28 year old albino friend

Suuuuuch a good song

nostalgia

Seeing Fear and Loathing tonight brought me back. Everything from the decor of the building to the old movie trailers they played at the beginning of the movie reminded me of when I was young. It is crazy to think that way though. I am only 24 and to be able to reminisce about a time over a decade ago is seemingly unreal. I had an awesome time though tonight with Ethan. I can also not wait until April 29th when they are playing one of my all time favorite movies. I can't believe I am going to be seeing the Breakfast Club on the big screen. That just seems so surreal to me.

A 65 year-old man goes to his doctor for a check-up…

Doctor: “You’re doing fairly well for your age.”
Patient: “You think I’ll live to be 80?”
Doctor: “Well, do you smoke tobacco or drink beer?”
Patient: “No, I’ve never done either.”
Doctor: “Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?”
Patient: “No, red meat is unhealthy!”
Doctor: “Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, such as playing golf?”
Patient: “No, I don’t.”
Doctor: “Do you gamble, drive fast cars or fool around with sexy women?”
Patient: “No, never!”
Doctor: “Then why in hell do you want to live to be 80?”

I just got done a 6 day working spree and now I have a day off! I worked yesterday (Sunday) morning and it was the busiest I have ever seen the restaurant. It was pretty crazy. You ever notice how yoga pants make girls butts look? Now I am gonna be going back to work tomorrow for another 5 day week.

St Patricks day was pretty crazy.

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

The day started like any other. I woke up, showered, brushed my teeth and kissed Valerie goodbye as I had left for school. The kiss didn’t feel genuine, but I didn’t think anything of it at the time because it was early and who really has the energy to be completely genuine in the morning. Little did I know but that would be the last time our lips would come together. Throughout the day we had been texting each other like we usually do. Talking about the same old things any other couple who live together would. What’s for dinner, do you need me to pick anything up, and the fact we needed a new Facebook picture together.

I got convinced into watching this...so good

Funeral Party

When I first heard of Funeral Party it was through a YouTube link for their single "Finale" off their debut studio album entitled "The Golden Age of Nowhere. I wasn't planning on even giving them a try as I was quick to write them off as just another indie rock group but after listening to them I quickly changed my mind.

The band is compiled of members Chad, Kimo, James and Tim who are all from good old California, USA. The band was thankfully given the opportunity to record their album when the Producer for the Mars Volta heard them and invited them to record. It has received overall positive reviews by most. Lead singer Chad went on to say about the album title which was inspired by 'The Lord of the Flies', "I was just really into the idea of a civilization restarting but with a new mentality of, like, kids starting it up. Like something brand new". The upbeat tone of the album provides some awesome party tunes if that’s what gets your rocks off. If not, you can listen to the album if you just want to be put into a good mood; it's that awesome.

Upon doing some more research into the bands history it seems that I and probably many others have been missing out on listening to this awesome band for the past seven or so years. The single "Finale" was definitely chosen to be the album’s first single for a reason. The song gives a preview of what to look forward to with the rest of the album and that is some awesome indie-rock that you can and will want to dance to. Check out the single on YouTube because the music video to go along with it is equally as good as the song. After that I think you will be more than eager to go and purchase the album off of iTunes. After all, from beginning to end the album was in the works since 2008.
